My story

I'm Sara, the founder of Rainbow Bridge Vets.
I’m an experienced and compassionate vet with over 16 years’ experience caring for pets and their families.
I am a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Vet having completed advanced training with the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA).
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh before moving to Devon. I’ve also lived and worked in New Zealand and my (now senior) collie cross, Koru, came back to Devon with me before being joined by lurcher, Alphie.
The collie on the home page of this site was my first dog, Winnie, who taught me how to be a dog owner and Maggie, my cat who taught me how loving cats can be, on their own terms!
I started Rainbow Bridge Vets to give pet owners an alternative to visiting their vet practice when the time comes to say goodbye.
I want to offer pet owners a personal, kind and empathetic end to their pet’s life and I understand the intense emotions felt by owners when the time comes.
Pets are part of the family and I would be honoured to be chosen to make the end of your pet’s life as peaceful as possible in the comfort of their own home.
I live in East Devon with my husband, two small children and two dogs.
